BOWLING GREEN - A Perrysburg man who drove his car into an apartment building while fleeing police was placed on community control for five years by Wood County Common Pleas Judge Reeve Kelsey.

Judge Kelsey on Monday also ordered Brendan Wilde, 23, to complete a rehabilitation program at the NorthWest Community Corrections Center, Bowling Green, and to pay a $1,000 fine and $321 in restitution. His driver's license was suspended for three years.

Wilde pleaded guilty last month to one count of failure to comply with the order of a police officer stemming from the Feb. 12 chase.

Police said he was speeding when an officer attempted to pull him over. The chase ended when Wilde crashed into the Green Meadow Apartments on Napoleon Road.
