Toledo man sentenced in fatal stabbing at motel

A Toledo man who fatally stabbed another man to death at a South Toledo motel was sentenced yesterday to 15 years in prison.

George Eskridge, 40, of 725 North Detroit Ave. was sentenced by Judge James Jensen in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Eskridge was convicted of involuntary manslaughter with a specification that he was a repeat violent offender.

Eskridge stabbed Gregory Jenkins, 44, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, during a quarrel June 6 at the Budget Inn, South Reynolds Road and Heatherdowns Boulevard.

Mr. Jenkins was found in a second-floor hallway and died later in a hospital.
