A Swanton-area man who allegedly killed a motorcyclist in a hit-skip accident this month was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Michael J. Wheeler, 35, of 6475 County Rd. 1-1, was indicted on one count each of aggravated vehicle homicide; failure to stop after an accident; and driving while under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse, or a combination of them.

Bobbie L. Domoe, 49, of Frankfort Road, Swanton, was killed about 9 p.m. Oct. 4 when he collided with a southbound pickup that went left of center on Wilkins Road in Harding Township, about three miles northeast of Swanton.

The driver of the pickup fled. Mr. Domoe, who was thrown from his motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Wheeler's pickup was found abandoned about an hour later in a parking lot at 12550 Airport Hwy. Mr. Wheeler was allegedly seen in the area staggering.

Several hours before the accident, witnesses said Mr. Wheeler was drinking in a Swanton-area bar. He was arrested Oct. 13 at the Fulton County Eastern District Probation Department in Swanton when he reported to meet with his probation officer on a previous domestic violence charge.
