O-I quarterly profit is $69M

Owens-Illinois Inc. yesterday reported third-quarter profit of $69 million, or 42 cents a share, more than double its profit of $28.9 million, or 16 cents a share, a year earlier.

The glassmaker, Toledo's second largest corporation, said its revenue for the quarter was $1.7 billion, up 30 percent from $1.3 billion, largely because of a European acquisition. The firm said its strong cash flow allowed it to repay $150 million in debt.

Health Care REIT Inc. yesterday reported profit of $21.8 million, or 37 cents a share, in the third quarter, down 14 percent from profit of $25.3 million, or 46 cents a share, in the same period a year ago.

The Toledo real-estate investment trust also reported revenues of $57.5 million in the most recent quarter, up 36 percent from $42.4 million a year earlier, and funds from operations (a measure that includes depreciation) of $38.2 million, up 18 percent from $32.4 million.

The company declared a dividend of 60 cents a share, payable Nov. 19 to holders of record Nov. 1.

Toledo's Dana Corp. yesterday announced a quarterly cash dividend of 12 cents a share, payable Dec. 15 to holders of record on Dec. 1.

Libbey Inc. of Toledo yesterday declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 10 cents a share, payable Nov. 23 to holders of record on Nov. 4.
