Fostoria man gets life for the rape of girl, 8

12/7/2004

FOSTORIA - A Fostoria man was sentenced to life in prison yesterday for raping an 8-year-old girl at his home in November, 2003, said Seneca County prosecutor Ken Egbert, Jr.

Ricardo Duque, 46, formerly of Spruce Street, was found guilty last month of rape. He received the life sentence because of his victim's age, Mr. Egbert said.

During the sentencing hearing, Common Pleas Judge Michael P. Kelbley classified Duque as a sexual predator and a child-oriented predator. If Duque were ever released on parole, for which he will be eligible after 10 years in prison, he would have to register his address with the local sheriff's office, and neighbors would receive notification.
