Forums set for development, housing issues

The city of Toledo has scheduled five community forums to give residents a chance to comment on housing and community development for the next five years.

The meetings will focus on affordable housing, homelessness, safety, transportation, and economic development.

The forums are part of the city's preparation of a new U.S. Housing and Urban Development consolidated plan for 2005-2010.

All of the meetings are from 5 to 7 p.m. The dates and locations are:

●Tuesday, Friendly Center, 1324 North Superior St.

●Wednesday, Mayores Senior Center, 2 Aurora Gonzales Drive.

●Thursday, East Toledo Senior Activities Center, 1101 White St.

●Feb. 23, CrossRoads Family Resource Center, 4543 Douglas Ave.

●Feb. 24, Frederick Douglass Community Association, 1001 Indiana Ave.
