Rite Aid to replace southwest Toledo motel

3/22/2005

Demolition of a crime-plagued southwest Toledo motel "is imminent" after sale to developers for Rite Aid Corp.

The Camp Hill, Pa., drug chain plans to open a pharmacy of 14,600 square feet on the site of the current Budget Inn at Heatherdowns Boulevard and Reynolds Road before the end of 2005, a Rite Aid spokesman said. The store will replace a smaller Rite Aid in the Colonial Village Shopping Center at 4400 Heatherdowns.

WXZ Development, of suburban Cleveland, purchased the property Friday for $1.6 million from Matiur Rahman, said Rob Finney, a Toledo real estate agent involved in the sale.
