BOWLING GREEN - A Genoa man who failed to turn over state sales tax from his business was placed on probation for five years yesterday and ordered to pay restitution to the state.

Richard McCaughey, Jr., 62, pleaded guilty in Wood County Common Pleas Court last month to two counts of failure to remit sales tax. Judge Robert Pollex ordered him to pay court costs and restitution, though the amount of restitution has not been determined.

McCaughey failed to remit and report sales tax from his business, Bee Gee Carpets.
