Ex-employee of physician guilty of theft

A Blissfield woman pleaded no contest yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to theft and forgery charges after she was accused of taking $35,000 from a Toledo doctor for whom she worked.

Terri A. Kronberg, 52, was found guilty of one count each of grand theft and forgery by Judge Jack Zouhary. She is scheduled to be sentenced June 28.

Police said she took the money from Dr. Larry Krill, 2121 Hughes Drive, where she was employed as office manager. In December, the doctor received information from his accountants that his office account - which contained $30,000 when Kronberg was hired - was empty.

He then filed a police report indicating that $30,000 to $50,000 had been taken between May, 2004, and December.

Police found that checks were forged or written to Kronberg herself or to her dog. The money was spent on numerous items, including 11 computers, office supplies that weren't in the doctor's office, postage stamps, and a microwave, Detective Victoria Woodard said.
