The results of a $6 million renovation will be on view tonight at a party for about 300 guests at the Hilton Toledo next to the Medical University of Ohio.

Allegiance Hospitality Corp., a division of Allegiance Realty Corp., of Charlotte, N.C., bought the hotel a year ago. It is aiming to make the Hilton the Toledo area's only hotel rated four-star by the American Automobile Association, Rich Nachazel, general manager, said yesterday.

Rooms on the first five floors are renovated and work is under way on the sixth floor, he said.

The restaurant and bar called 31 Hundred - named for the hotel's address, 3100 Glendale Ave., opened about a month ago for hotel guests and will be open to the public after tonight's grand opening, Mr. Nachazel said.

Allegiance Hospitality owns and operates 3.3 million square feet of commercial office space and about 1,200 hotel rooms around the country. The local Hilton is managed by American Property Management Corp.

Mr. Nachazel, a former executive director of the Greater Toledo Convention & Visitors Bureau and a former Holiday Inn manager in the area, was hired as the Hilton's general manager last fall.
