Bentley flattens report of dealer in metro Toledo

7/28/2005

It seemed like a car lover's dream: A luxury-car-dealer strip in Sylvania Township would have northwest Ohio's first outlet for Bentley, the very upscale cars that are hand-built in Britain and start at $160,000 each.

Alas, Toledo-area buyers in the market to drive like the rich and famous still must shop out of town.

A Bentley spokesman set the record straight yesterday, and a township official admitted that the latest quarterly newsletter to residents of the township and the city of Sylvania erred in reporting the dealership. Bentley will not be joining the Lexus, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi brands on Central Avenue near King Road.
