WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) Martha Stewart s release from home confinement and her electronic anklet has been delayed three weeks to the end of the month, her lawyer said today.

In a one-sentence letter, Walter Dellinger said, Martha Stewart has agreed to an extension of the terms of her home confinement until Aug. 31.

It was not known why Stewart s release, which had been expected next week, was postponed. But The New York Post reported Sunday that probation officials were looking into its report that Stewart had been riding around her estate north of New York City in an off-road vehicle and had shown up at a yoga class nearby.

Stewart s home confinement, which followed a five-month prison sentence for a stock scandal, is supposed to keep her inside her house except for 48 hours a week unless she is working.
