Meth manufacturer gets nearly 5-year sentence

9/13/2005

BOWLING GREEN A Williams County man who was convicted of manufacturing methamphetamine was sentenced yesterday to nearly five years in prison by Judge Alan Mayberry in Wood County Common Pleas Court.

Kris Kerr, 32, of Alvordton, Ohio, was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, and his driver s license was suspended for five years. Judge Mayberry ordered that the prison sentence of 4 years and 11 months be served consecutive to his two-year sentence from Williams County on similar charges.

Police found Kerr sleeping inside his vehicle in January. They learned that Williams County had an arrest warrant for him and found suspicious items in his vehicle, officers said. He was then arrested.

In July, Kerr pleaded no contest to illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and aggravated possession of drugs.
