Man gets 5-year sentence over meth lab in home

BOWLING GREEN The last defendant charged over a methamphetamine lab discovered in January at a home on Hammansburg Road has been sentenced to five years in prison.

K.C. Chapman, 40, who had no known address, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Wood County Common Pleas Court to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, complicity to illegal manufacture of drugs, and complicity to illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

Judge Alan Mayberry sentenced Chapman to three five-year terms, all to be served concurrently.

Co-defendants Bruce Chapman and Rickie Brinkman are serving prison sentences on related charges, while Eric Shabnow was placed on community control for three years.

Laurie Chapman, who was convicted of endangering children for allowing her children to live at the home where the meth lab was operating, is to be sentenced Nov. 21.
