A Toledo man convicted two years ago of staging his own kidnapping to extort money from his parents was resentenced yesterday in U.S. District Court.

Judge David Katz reduced the sentence of Anthony E. Baldwin from 55 months to 51 months, complying with an order from the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati. He is being held in the federal prison in Elkton, Ohio.

Baldwin was found guilty in September, 2003, on three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy. He was sentenced in February, 2004.
