Plastics firm slates start of Toledo plant

First State Plastics Inc. plans to have the first 12 to 15 of its work force of 48 on the job by Dec. 1 in its new 75,000-square-foot plant on Bennett Road in Toledo, Doug Kaczorowski, chief financial officer of First State, of said yesterday.

Mr. Kaczorowski said the firm, a recycler of plastics for industry, took possession yesterday of its property, part of a large industrial complex once occupied by Dana Corp. s Spicer Transmission plant.

The complex most recently was owned by Willis Day Storage Co.

The plastics firm, of New Castle, Del., had said it plans to invest about $575,000 in its Toledo facility, and it qualified for $137,000 in Ohio tax credits and $15,000 in city of Toledo tax breaks. First State promised to create 48 jobs paying an average of $14 an hour over the next three years and to maintain local operations for 10 years.
