COLUMBUS A pair of Wood County residents who filed suit shortly before the 2004 presidential election have quietly withdrawn their challenge to voter registration efforts tied to organizations supporting John Kerry.

The action occurred just before the one-year anniversary of President George Bush s narrow victory in Ohio, a win that decided the national election.

Mark Rubick of Bowling Green and Jamey Koralewskli of Perrysburg requested that their complaint against America Coming Together and three partner organizations be dismissed in Wood County Common Pleas Court.

The suit, which argued that their valid votes would be diluted by fraudulent votes cast by potentially illegally registered voters, followed reports of false registrations, including a number submitted by a man paid with crack cocaine.
