Justice Dept. honors 2 for Outlaw Club prosecutions

The U.S. Department of Justice this week honored two assistant U.S. attorneys Joseph Wilson and Ava Rotell Dustin both of the Toledo office of the U.S. Attorney s Office for the Northern District of Ohio, at its 22nd annual Executive Office for United States Attorneys Director s Award Ceremony.

Recipients included attorneys, litigation and information technology support personnel, and others who have made outstanding contributions in federal, state, and local law enforcement.

The Toledo attorneys were honored for their work in the prosecution of members of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club, which resulted in the conviction of 35 defendants, including the international president and the entire club membership in the Midwest.

Both attorneys are members of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Unit of the U.S. Attorney s Office, and they directed an investigation that lasted for more than five years and involved Outlaw Motorcycle gang chapters throughout the Midwest.
