Man will be sentenced Jan. 27 in stabbing death

LIMA, Ohio A local man is to be sentenced Jan. 27 for stabbing a Lima man to death during a robbery attempt.

Jeremy Clay, 19, pleaded guilty last week before Allen County Common Pleas Judge Richard Warren to reduced charges of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery.

Clay faces up to 20 years in prison for the Aug. 25, 2004, stabbing of George Cushman, 46.

Mr. Cushman died after he was stabbed multiple times outside his South Union Street home. Prosecutors said Clay went to the victim s home to rob him and stabbed him when he resisted.
