Fremont man get 2 years for setting apartment fire

FREMONT A Fremont man has been sentenced to two years in prison for setting a fire in a vacant apartment in Fremont in December.

Donald Bowers, 52, was sentenced by Sandusky County Common Pleas Court Judge James Sherck after entering a guilty plea Wednesday to a charge of attempted aggravated arson.

Bowers originally was charged with aggravated arson for the fire Dec. 2 at 1323 West State St. Police said he set the fire in the upstairs apartment where he was sleeping to keep warm.
