McPherson antiques draw strong response

4/13/2006

An auction of antiques from the estates of the late Dana Corp. Chairman Rene McPherson and his wife, Nancy, resulted in the sale of nearly all of the more than 60 items of glassware, furniture, and collectible items offered.

Bidding was spirited, but the DuMouchelles Art Gallery in Detroit declined to disclose the total sale amount. Dozens of antique Staffordshire porcelain figurines, appraised at about $20,000, were sold, including many that drew twice the appraised amount, and one went for $2,300, a DuMouchelles owner said.
