VAN WERT, Ohio A Van Wert man who was on probation and awaiting trial for aggravated vehicular homicide was resentenced to his original prison term for violating his community control sanctions by drinking alcohol.

Luke I. Reinhart, 27, was on community control for a 2003 drug conviction.

In addition, he was on electronically monitored house arrest pending his May 8 trial on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide for a fatal accident on Labor Day, when he allegedly ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle in which Jade and Kristian Amweg of Decatur, Ind., died.

Van Wert County sheriff s deputies were sent to Reinhart s home on April 9 for a domestic call and found him drinking beer.

Judge Charles Steele resentenced Reinhart on Wednesday to the previous prison term of eight months.
