Michigan teen pleads guilty to Van Wert break-in

VAN WERT, Ohio An 18-year-old Michigan man has pleaded guilty in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court to breaking into and entering the home of a former city police officer.

Benjamin Young, whose address was not available, and Joshua Highsmith of Van Wert were found March 28 inside a vacant home on Woodlawn Avenue, where they apparently had been living.

Charles Langdon, a former Van Wert City police officer, held them at gunpoint until they were taken into custody by police officers.

Judge Charles Steele on Wednesday ordered a presentence investigation and set Young s sentencing for June 7.
