BOWLING GREEN One of two Toledo men charged with stealing boxes of chewing gum from gas stations and carryouts in Wood County pleaded guilty yesterday to five counts of complicity to theft.

Raymond Parse, 48, of 631 White St., is to be sentenced July 7 by Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Alan Mayberry.

As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors agreed to drop one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

A co-defendant in the case, David Rogers, 42, of 6 Stratton St., is wanted by authorities after he failed to appear for his court arraignment in January.

Prosecutors said the two men and a woman, who has not been charged, went to gas stations and carryouts in Northwood, Perrysburg, and Rossford between Oct. 1 and Nov. 13, placed boxes of gum under their coats, and left without paying.
