BOWLING GREEN - Prosecutors are seeking to have a 15-year-old boy certified to stand trial as an adult for allegedly attacking a staff member at the Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio, taking her keys and radio, and then escaping.

Travis Johnson of Bowling Green waived a probable-cause hearing yesterday in Wood County Juvenile Court, where Judge David Woessner ordered him to be evaluated at the Court Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Toledo. Judge Woessner scheduled a July 19 hearing on the state's motion to bind him over to Wood County Common Pleas Court.

Just after noon May 29, young Johnson allegedly assaulted a staff member at the residential center, which is a secure facility for juvenile felony offenders. He reportedly took her keys and radio and left the building.

According to police reports, young Johnson scaled a fence before fleeing across a field toward I-75. Police arrested him a short while later near the NorthWest Community Corrections Center. He has been charged with delinquency in connection with escape and aggravated robbery.
