BLADE STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

Nine Toledo Public Schools administrators resigned at the district s board meeting Tuesday night, creating more upper-level vacancies in a district already searching to replace its superintendent.

Five other employees announced their retirement, including the school system s treasurer, chief business manager and executive director of communications.

No reason was given for the resignations and retirements.

In May, the school board asked then-superintendent Eugene Sanders to leave his post immediately rather than stay on until his planned departure in August. Sanders resigned as superintendent in Toledo when he applied for the same job in Cleveland, a position he accepted in March.
