Former Henry County commissioner sentenced to community control for attempted menacing conviction

A former Henry County commissioner was sentenced this afternoon in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to spend two years on community control for chasing a girl in South Toledo on Jan. 31.

Judge James Bates also ordered Steve Baden to pay $1,000 in fines plus court costs.

Baden, 39, resigned from his job as a county commissioner on May 18, which is the same day he entered an Alford plea to one count of attempted menacing by stalking, a fifth-degree felony. The charge involved a then 14-year-old girl.
