Pretrial hearing set in Lake Twp. market holdup

7/8/2006

A pretrial hearing has been set for a Toledo man charged with aggravated robbery in the holdup Sunday of the Woodbury Market in Lake Township, police said.

Jesse J. Maedel, 28, of 513 Adams St., is to appear Thursday in Perrysburg Municipal Court. He's being held in the Wood County Justice Center in lieu of $50,000 bond. Police said he entered the market, 1503 Woodville Rd., shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday, held a knife to the throat of a female employee, and demanded money. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, he fled in a car for which witnesses supplied a partial license number. The car's owner, Kyerstyn L. Sephton, 36, of 1719 Mansfield Rd., Toledo, and Mr. Maedel were arrested Sunday at his apartment. She was charged with complicity and released on her own recognizance, but is to appear for a pretrial hearing Tuesday in the Perrysburg court.
