McCloskey transferred to Michigan federal prison

7/29/2006

Former Toledo Councilman Bob McCloskey was transferred yesterday to the Federal Detention Center in Milan, Mich., where he will be held until the federal Bureau of Prisons assigns him to a facility to serve his sentence for federal and state bribery convictions, authorities said.

McCloskey was taken from the Lucas County jail to Milan, where he could be held for up to eight weeks before his transfer to a yet-to-be determined federal prison, authorities said.

McCloskey was sentenced to 27 months in prison on July 21 by U.S. District Court Judge David Katz. Later that day, McCloskey was sentenced by Lucas County Common Pleas Court Judge James Bates to one year in prison for an unrelated bribery conviction to be served concurrently with the federal sentence.
