Indictments were filed yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court against two Toledo men in separate fatal traffic accidents that caused the deaths of four people.

Michael Ibanez, 19, of 4818 Imperial Drive, and Reginald Dixon, 48, of 535 Avondale Ave., were indicted by a grand jury on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide each.

Mr. Ibanez was charged in the April 7 single-car crash that killed his passengers, Matthew Davis, 19, of Albany Street, and Thomas Herman, 19, of Adrian Street. Mr. Herman was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr. Davis died April 21 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Mr. Ibanez was northbound on Summit Street at high speed when he lost control of his car and hit a utility pole. He also is charged with vehicular assault for injuries a passenger suffered.

Mr. Dixon is accused of being intoxicated on May 1 when his car collided with the car of Richard Miller at Indiana Avenue and Collingwood Boulevard in central Toledo.

Mr. Miller, 66, of Findlay, died about four weeks later. Mr. Dixon's passenger, Patricia Mason, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Mr. Dixon had a blood-alcohol level of 0.210 percent. The legal limit for a motorist in Ohio is 0.08 percent.
