Andersons discloses potential ethanol site

10/19/2006

Another possible site for an ethanol-producing plant in Ohio has been disclosed by The Andersons Inc., of Maumee, which has applied for an airemission

permit in Crestline, about 10 miles west of Mansfield.

The company said it is considering a location adjacent to a grain elevator in the Crawford County community, but stressed that the site is among several

under consideration.

If built, the plant would be of similar size and built on a similar timeframe as one the company is pursuing in Greenville, northwest of Dayton. That is to produce 110 million gallons of ethanol annually and could be operating by early 2008.

The suburban Toledo firm has an operating ethanol plant in Albion, Mich., has announced plans for plants in Clymers and Dunkirk, Ind., and has a airpermit

application for one near Champaign, Ill. It recently said it would partner with Marathon Oil Corp. to develop several factories to make the vehicle-fuel alternative to regular gasoline.
