Public hearing set for arena plan

11/14/2006

Lucas County residents and business owners who want to have a say about the future of a proposed arena in downtown Toledo can attend the final public hearing tonight.

The county commissioners will host the hearing at 6 p.m. in The Roost at Fifth Third Field.

The meetings have been an opportunity for the public to see the arena plan and ask questions or suggest ideas about a multipurpose arena.

Attendees will have a chance to learn background about how the proposed downtown site was selected, what amenities are expected to be included, and about how the county plans to finance the nearly $82 million project.

The county commissioners said residents are still welcome to offer input by calling or e-mailing the commissioners individually.
