Toledo Edison appoints vice president

Richard Wilkins, former internal communications manager for FirstEnergy Corp. s nuclear operations, has been named vice president for external relations for the firm s Toledo Edison.

Wellington F. Roemer Insurance of Toledo has made the following promotions: Alexander H. Due to executive vice president from senior vice president, R.J. Rajner to vice president from senior account executive, and Mike Lawrence to vice president from division manager.

HNTB Corp. has been given a grand award by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio for designing the replacement Perry Street bridge in Napoleon. Receiving honor awards from the council were DGL Consulting Engineers LLC for designing the Michael Owens Way entrance to Levis Common in Perrysburg and Arcadis for its improvements design for Toledo s Bay View wastewater treatment plant.

Jason Born has been hired as assistant vice president and portfolio manager for the private client group of National City Bank in Toledo.

Elaine Covert has been named vice president of business development and a partner in the Toledo office of GeoEnvironmental Consortium Inc.
