Mayor Carty Finkbeiner formally opened the rebuilt Levis Park pedestrian mall in downtown Toledo yesterday.
The city spent about $100,000 to remove concrete from the square and install two grassy areas, complete with planters, light poles, and park benches.
The pocket park near Madison Avenue opens up a vista from North St. Clair Street to the Maumee River, the mayor said.
The work was a continuation of the demolition late last year of a former enclosed bus station and pedestrian walkway along Summit.
