2 local entities in line for funds from state

A technology business start-up program and a food technology center in Lucas County are in line for state funds, contingent upon approval of the State Controlling Board.

The Regional Growth Partnership is to get $350,000 for the fiscal year beginning next month and a similar amount for next year to provide early evaluation and assessment services, as well as marketing, financial planning, and other services for technology entrepreneurs.

The Center for Innovative Food Technologies in Toledo, one of the state s Edison Centers, is to receive $700,000 to nurture related businesses, said Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher, who is director of the Ohio Department of Development.
