Human resources group honors 2 area firms as tops to work for

Two northwest Ohio firms have been named among the top 25 companies in the country to work for at the Society for Human Resource Management's annual conference. Root Learning Inc., a Sylvania consulting and training firm, placed seventh among the small companies, and the RightThing Inc., a 286-employee outsourcing help company in Findlay, placed 13th among medium-sized companies.

Shane McGee, a project manager at Hull & Associates Inc. in Toledo, has been named Young Engineer of the Year by the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers. Also, the group honored the Toledo chapter of its organization with the Engineers Week Overall Observance Award.

Jean-Rene Gougelet has been named to the board of directors of table-glass maker Libbey Inc., Toledo.

Tim Yenrick, executive director of the Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, is the recipient of the Tiffany Award for employee excellence in management from the Great Lakes Service Area of the Red Cross.

SSOE Inc., of Toledo, has been named one of the nine best architecture, engineering, and construction firms to work for by Building Design & Construction Magazine.
