Jobe arraigned on murder charges

Robert Jobe, the 15-year-old North Toledoan charged in the shooting death of undercover vice Detective Keith Dressel, was arraigned in Lucas County Common Pleas Court this morning.

The teen is charged with one count each of aggravated murder and murder, each with a firearm specification. Judge Charles Doneghy set a $500,000 bond and ordered him back to the Lucas County Jail.

The Jobe youth is accused in the Feb. 21 shooting of Detective Dressel, who, along with other officers, approached him after witnessing what the police believed was a drug deal. Also arrested in the incident was Sherman Powell, 19, who has been arraigned on several drug and obstruction of justice charges.

Judge Doneghy appointed attorneys David Klucas and Ann Baronas to represent the teen. Ms. Baronas had represented the Jobe youth throughout the proceedings in juvenile court, where he was certified to stand trial as an adult.
