115-employee plant to be closed in Delphos

6/28/2007

DELPHOS Toledo Molding & Die Inc. yesterday said it plans to close the older of two manufacturing plants in Delphos by Oct. 1, eliminating the jobs of about 115 employees in the facility that makes automotive heating and air-conditioning components.

The Toledo firm said the closing is to reduce excess manufacturing capacity.

Jack Ruhe, operations manager for the Delphos plants, said 90 to 95 of the employees are represented by United Auto Workers Local 2279, and many will be offered jobs at other plants in northwest Ohio and in Alabama. He said some may go to the other Delphos plant, which also makes automotive components and employs 156.
