9/26/2007

A Toledo man accused in the Aug. 8 death of a motorcyclist at Dorr Street and Holland-Sylvania Road pleaded not guilty yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to charges of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Christopher Burrer, 22, of 1106 Steeple Chase Circle was arraigned on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of Andrew Wiederhold, 22, of Waterville Township.

If convicted, Mr. Burrer faces either a maximum of eight years or five years in prison, depending on the charge.

Mr. Wiederhold was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after he was thrown from his motorcycle.

Mr. Burrer was eastbound on Dorr about 11 p.m. when he attempted to turn left onto Holland-Sylvania in front of the motorcycle, which was westbound on Dorr.

Judge Stacy Cook continued the cash bond already posted by Mr. Burrer and set an Oct. 16 hearing date.
