SANDUSKY Cedar Fair LP said yesterday it will spend $88 million for improvements at its amusement and water parks, but relatively little will be spent at Cedar Point.

The Lake Erie-side park will get a new children s area with seven rides and a family lounge, replacing Peanuts Playground, the firm said. Its Sandcastle Suites hotel nearby will get an interior renovation.

The company will spend $21 million to build the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster in Canada at its Wonderland Park in Toronto. Called Behemoth, the coaster will be 230 feet tall, with 5,300 feet of steel track.

New roller coasters also will be built at Kings Dominion near Richmond, Va., Dorney Park in Allentown, Pa., Knott s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif., and Michigan s Adventure in Muskegon, Mich.
