Trial of man accused of entering dorms delayed

12/11/2007

The trial for the Toledo man accused of entering the dorm rooms of University of Toledo students and inappropriately touching them while they slept was postponed yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Jeremy Ketter, 25, of 4051 Walker Ave., will go to trial for two counts of burglary on Jan. 28. Judge Denise Ann Dartt granted defense attorney Tyrone Riley s request for additional time to do more investigation.

Ketter faces a maximum of 16 years in prison if convicted on both charges. The incidents occurred Sept. 6 in Nash Hall.

In a separate case in March, Ketter was arrested for entering rooms in The Crossing dormitory and touching the arm of one female student and lying down next to another. He was sentenced Oct. 1 to three years in prison after pleading no contest to burglary. That sentence was stayed pending the outcome of the trial on the later charges.

Ketter, who was a UT student at the time of the March incident but is no longer enrolled, is in the county jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
