A West Toledo man accused of assaulting and threatening to kill another man while that man was driving was arraigned yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court, authorities said.

Neal Harmon III, 41, of 2414 Tremainsville Rd. was charged with robbery. He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Harmon flagged down Derrick Sutts, 32, as he left Porter Trailer Park at 2414 Tremainsville Rd. about 7 p.m. Sunday. Harmon got into Mr. Sutts' van, demanded money, and threatened to kill him, police said.

Harmon allegedly grabbed a roll of nails and attempted to hit Mr. Sutts, but missed. Next, he swung a screwdriver at Mr. Sutts and again missed, police said.

Harmon then began slapping Mr. Sutts in the face as he was driving, police said. In an attempt to stop the attack, Mr. Sutts drove into oncoming traffic and stopped.

Harmon jumped out of the van and fled. He was arrested near 2414 Tremainsville after a brief foot pursuit, police said.
