The parents of a Toledo Public Schools student hit by a car Aug. 28 as he crossed Glendale Avenue on his way to the first day of school as an eighth grader have sued Kok Leung, who was driving the vehicle.

Glenda and Darrell Jackson filed the lawsuit yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on behalf of their son, Adam. The lawsuit asks for damages in excess of $25,000.

The Jackson youth was crossing in a school zone en route to Byrnedale [Middle] School and while crossing the intersection [Mr. Leung] carelessly and negligently collided with him, the lawsuit states.

The boy was taken to a hospital with broken bones. At the time of the crash, Mr. Leung, of 2116 Tedrow Rd., was not cited, police said.
