A South Toledo man accused of forcing his former girlfriend into a car, driving her to a wooded area off Alexis Road, and threatening to kill her was arraigned yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court, authorities said.

Deon Brown, 29, of 6918 Oak Field Drive was charged with felony domestic violence. He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

Misdemeanor charges of domestic violence, assault, and unlawful restraint filed Saturday against Brown have been dismissed, court records show.

He is accused of grabbing, beating, and threatening to kill Tamesha Gott, 23, as she was leaving a nightclub on Phillips Avenue about 3:15 a.m. Saturday.

Several witnesses tried to help, but Brown forced Ms. Gott, with whom he has a 6-week-old son, into a car and drove to a park off Alexis, police said.

There, he began hitting her on the head and body, kneeled on her throat, and again threatened to kill her after putting a gun to her head, police said.

Ms. Gott begged for her life and Brown eventually took her to her central Toledo home, where he fell asleep, police said.

Ms. Gott then sneaked out of the bedroom and ran to nearby St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center for help, police said.
