A South Toledo man accused of forcing his former girlfriend into a car, driving her to a wooded area off Alexis Road, and threatening to kill her was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Deon Brown, 29, of 6918 Oak Field Drive, was charged with domestic violence and abduction. He was being held in the county jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond. If convicted, Brown faces up to 10 years in prison.

Brown is accused of grabbing, beating, and threatening to kill Tamesha Gott, 23, as she was leaving a nightclub on Phillips Avenue about 3:15 a.m. May 3.

Despite attempts by several witnesses to help, Brown forced Ms. Gott, with whom he has a

7-week-old son, into a car and drove to a park off Alexis, police said.

Brown is accused of hitting the victim on the head and body, kneeling on her throat, and again threatening to kill her after putting a gun to her head, police said.

Brown eventually took her to her central Toledo home, where he fell asleep, giving Ms. Gott the opportunity to sneak out of the bedroom and run to nearby St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center to seek help, police said.
