City s new economic chief to be paid $90,000 a year

Toledo s new director of economic development will be paid $90,000 a year and has promised to move from Perrysburg Township to the city of Toledo, Mayor Carty Finkbeiner said yesterday while introducing David K. Amstutz, former director of new business development for the Regional Growth Partnership.

He starts Monday and will be in charge of monitoring the city s economic development interests, attracting jobs, assisting businesses, and coordinating projects.

Mr. Amstutz, a native of Columbus Grove near the Putnam-Allen county line, has been a consultant for financially challenged small companies since February, 2007.

Mr. Finkbeiner has been acting as his own economic development director since he took office in January, 2006.
