North Baltimore man given 7 years for making threats

BOWLING GREEN A North Baltimore, Ohio, man who led authorities on a 20-mile chase in a semi tractor after threatening to kill his former girlfriend and cutting her nephew s finger was sentenced yesterday to seven years in prison.

Daniel Bixler, 47, was ordered by Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Reeve Kelsey to serve consecutive prison terms of four years for felonious assault and three years for failure to comply with the order of a police officer.

He received 180-day jail terms for each of two counts of aggravated menacing, which were ordered to run concurrent to the prison term.

Bixler was arrested Feb. 9 after the incident in North Baltimore and the chase that ended when officers shot out the semi tractor s tires just south of Tiffin.
