Former employee of Lucas County Clerk of Courts office indicted on theft charges

A Lucas County grand jury has indicted a former bookkeeper in the Lucas County Clerk of Courts office on seven felony charges in connection with the theft of more than $100,000 from the agency s auto title division, according to an indictment filed Tuesday afternoon.

Tina Suzanne Lake, who submitted her resignation in March, had been a suspect for months, said Bernie Quilter, Lucas County s clerk of courts.

The indictment came following an investigation that Mr. Quilter said he had asked the county prosecutor s office to conduct.

"I look forward to justice prevailing," Mr. Quilter said after learning of the indictment.
