Arizona man is indicted for $4.7M in drugs in car on Ohio Turnpike

An Aguila, Ariz., man accused of having an estimated $4.7 million worth of cocaine and heroin in his car when it was stopped June 10 on the Ohio Turnpike in Springfield Township was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Marco Ramos, 26, was charged with one count each of possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, possession of heroin, trafficking in heroin, and possessing criminal tools.

He was being held in the county jail in lieu of $3 million bond.

An Ohio Highway Patrol trooper stopped the eastbound car about 1:45 p.m. for a marked-lane violation just west of the turnpike s Reynolds Road interchange.

A drug-detection dog alerted the trooper to the drugs and a probable-cause search revealed 22 kilograms of powder cocaine and 3 kilograms of heroin, the patrol said.
