Fired school bus driver sues Perrysburg district
7/11/2008A former bus driver for Perrysburg schools has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Toledo contending that he was fired without good or just cause.
David Desparios of Perrysburg filed suit Wednesday against the district, its then-Superintendent Michael Cline, Business Manager Richard Jones, and the school board.
The suit states that Mr. Desparios was fired in June, 2007, after being employed by the district for about five years. It claims he was not given due process because he wasn t allowed sufficient opportunity to marshal facts and evidence to counter the charges.
He requested his job back, full back pay, and compensatory and punitive damages totaling more than $2 million.
The district declined comment on the lawsuit.
